As part of the evolution of its practice, GKC welcomes Andrew King, FRAIC as Design Principal. His appointment aims to strengthen the role of design at the core of the firm’s industrial, commercial, and workplace projects, while expanding the range of services offered to its clients.
Under the leadership of Fernando Lozano, CEO and Managing Principal, GKC continues to pursue a vision where design, strategy, and performance reinforce one another.
Having led the design transformation and growth of two of North America’s largest architecture practices, Andrew brings nationally recognized design leadership.
His arrival strengthens GKC’s direction by supporting the rigor and execution quality that define the firm.

An internationally recognized designer, Andrew King combines research, intellectual rigor, and contextual sensitivity. A professor at McGill University and the University of Calgary, he contributes actively to the evolution of architectural thinking and education in Canada.
Fellow of the RAIC and Prix de Rome laureate, Andrew has also received numerous design and architecture distinctions, including two AIA Progressive Architecture Awards of Excellence and, more recently, five Canadian Architect Awards of Excellence.
His portfolio includes several major urban, civic, and cultural projects, such as: Place des Montréalaises, Université de Montréal's Hospital Centre (CHUM), Saint-Joseph’s Oratory Carillon and welcome pavilion, Humaniti mixed‑use complex in Montreal, Capilano University Film School in Vancouver, York University New Student Centre in Toronto and, Wilfrid Laurier University Sports Centre (YMCA) in Brantford, Ontario
